An out of control bushfire in Perth’s north-east has sparked a possible threat to lives and homes.

A watch and act is in place for people bounded by Abernathy Road, Kalamunda Road and the Great Eastern Highway Bypass in parts of Hazelmere, High Wycombe, Perth Airport and South Guildford in Swan and Kalamunda.

DFES Incident Controller Clint Kuchel told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast  crews are still actively working the fire and are trying to prevent it from crossing Great Eastern Highway.

“There’s no injuries at this point in time, but it is causing some significant traffic disruption and community impact,” Mr Kuchel said.
