The increasing number of homeless people begging at Perth intersections has divided experts over what can be done.

City of Stirling mayor Mark Irwin has pushed a “plan of action” to remove people who are asking money from city streets, a move that was unanimously supported by Stirling City Council.

Anglicare WA CEO Mark Glasson told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings he vehemently disagreed with Mr Irwin’s plans, calling the assumption that begging is supporting criminal activity “folly”.
