Another listener has revealed to Liam Bartlett her devastation at treatment from the Department of Communities after similar cases were aired by the 6PR Mornings host recently.

‘Annette’ told the program her husband committed suicide in 2017 after what she claims was a clear breach of protocol by the department.

She claims a case worker passed on confidential information to a mystery woman, who was claiming to be her husband’s daughter from more than 50 years ago and began unwarranted and nasty correspondence with the couple.

“It’s just lies after lies. I’ve been trying for four years to get the department to do an inquiry on how it was handled, and they just send me around and around… and nobody answers the phone, nobody talks to me,” an emotional Annette told Bartlett.

“I want the truth, I want closure… I need to get on with my life.”

6PR Mornings has been inundated with listeners revealing their dissatisfaction at Communities after serious claims were last week levelled against the government’s largest department, which is responsible for protecting at-risk WA children.

Lifeline’s 24/7 telephone crisis support service is available on 13 11 14.
