Global freight rates have ‘fallen off a cliff’, but shoppers shouldn’t expect cheaper or faster shipping this Christmas.

The falling freight rates have prompted retailers to warn consumers to expect delays heading into the silly season.

EES Shipping Managing Director Brian Hack has told Perth Live host Oly Peterson that you can shop around.

“We’re starting to see spot rates pop into the market,” he said.

“If you’re shipping consistently, I’d try and stick to your regular shipping lines and orders.”
