Changes to paid parental leave criticised for not promoting gender equality
The Federal Parliament has passed new changes to paid parental leave giving fathers better access to leave.
The changes include increases in paid parental leave from 18 to 20 weeks and more flexibility.
Parents at Work CEO Emma Walsh told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live it’s a “great first step”, but Australia is still far behind.
“It’s minimal the change,” said Ms Walsh
“[We’re] advocating for 52 weeks by 2030.”
