The State Government has stepped in to approve an application to relocate the Ruah Centre in Northbridge from its home of 50 plus years on Shenton Street, to a new site around the corner on James Street.

The move will make way for a purpose built Centre for Women and Children at its current site, despite facing objection from the City of Perth council.

Planning Minister Rita Saffioti today announced the approval of the application to relocate its existing facility, overturning the council’s objection.

CEO of RUAH Community Services, Debra Zanella joined Mark Gibson on Perth Live to talk about the good news for the community service provider.

Ms Zanella says they’re grateful for the courage of Minister Saffioti to make the decision.
