The State Government is being urged to scrap the Future Fund and seriously consider the use of toll roads to ease traffic congestion and pay for much needed infrastructure by WA’s peak economic lobby group the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA .

In its Future of Infrastructure report to be released today the CCI WA has mapped out several directions the Barnett government should look at to maintain its infrastructure commitment as federal and state funds budgets dry up.

CCI spokesperson Deidre Wilmott spoke to 6PR on Monday explain the key components of the report which also includes the suggested sale of key government assets including the TAB.

Ms Wilmott told Gary Adshead Perth’s increasing traffic congestion and WA’s port infrastructure approaching capacity are key limiters to economic growth.
