On Tuesday, Australians are urged to participate in “Cash Out Day”, a grassroots movement aimed at showing banks they reject a cashless society simply by withdrawing cash.

Press PLAY to hear about the push against a cashless society

Jason Bryce, founder of Cash Welcome, explained to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that while cash usage in Australia has risen over the last three years, access to cash and banking services has continued to decrease.

He emphasised the goal of the movement.

“Send a really strong signal that we have our eyes on you banks, we know what you’re doing, you’re herding us towards a cashless society and we vote no,” he said.
