An email sent to 6PR Breakfast says children under the age of 18 are unable to use the Uber and Ola ride share systems on their own.

The listener was trying to get his teenager home from work safely with a ride share driver, but they were declined by the app. Steve and Baz asked is it law that kids aren’t allowed in the ride share services unaccompanied or is it company policy?

Les Johnson from the Ride Share Drivers Association of Australia says there’s nothing in the State legislation, but Uber has a clause in their terms of use.

The 6PR Breakfast listeners joined the conversation about teens in Ubers.
