There are calls for the West Australia government to purchase a third rescue helicopter which would be stationed in Geraldton.

Currently, there are no rescue helicopters stationed north of Perth. 

Deputy Opposition Leader Shane Love told 6PR Perth Live a third rescue helicopter is vital to saving lives.

“It’s an obvious need in the area,” said Mr Love.

“Having that helicopter would make such a difference.”
