According to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, 2,784 recorded data breaches have occurred since the start of 2020, yet the question remains are organisations doing enough to protect themselves from cyber-attacks?

UNSW cybersecurity law expert Professor Lyria Bennett Moses told 6PR Afternoons there need to be better policies in place.

“We need to change the incentives about data handling in the first place,” said Professor Moses.

“I don’t think any of the reasons given to date explain why we can’t make it happen.”
