Call to check your genetics as Parkinson’s set to affect 12 million people

Experts have spoken out World Parkinson’s Day to urge people to check their family genetics, with the rate of diagnoses set to reach 12 million by 2020.
Shake It Up Australia CEO Vicki Miller told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast Parkinson’s Disease has a range of symptoms and affects, which can make it difficult to diagnose.
“No two people will have the same combination of symptoms and they also won’t progress with the neurodegeneration at the same rate,” Ms Miller said.
