The Australian Federal Police have charged a third man over the importation of more than 300 kilograms of cocaine into Western Australia after he was found last night allegedly hiding under a home spa.

Police allege the 49-year-old man had a loaded gun in a bag beside him when Tactical Response Team officers found him in a secret compartment under a spa on a back patio of a Byford property during a search.

The man was found after a six-week manhunt that began with the discovery of an overturned boat of the Albany coast.

Press PLAY to hear more about the arrest, as well as more news of the day

AFP Sergeant Kristen Swan said the bust had prevented “millions of dollars of drug profit” making its way to criminal syndicates.
