New laws have been enforced in Western Australia making employers responsible for managing and preventing psychosocial risks.

Psychosocial risks include anything which could psychologically harm a staff member such as harassment and bullying.

UnionsWA Secretary Owen Whittle told 6PR Perth Live the laws are well overdue.

“While it’s always been implied, its never really been stepped out,” said Mr Whittle.

“No worker should be exposed to harassment or violence.” He continued.
