Local volunteer firefighters have been given helmet cameras to document what really happens on the front line of a bushfires; the vision will feature in a second series of the popular National Geographic documentary, Bushfire Wars.

The Shire of Mundaring are heavily involved in the making of the series and the executive producer says it’s confronting vision.

“I believe it’s for the first time, we are right in the trucks, in the frontline with the firefighters and it’s quite incredible.
“And that’s why we drew a parallel to a war,” Leighton Debarros told 6PR Breakfast.

The Shire of Mundaring is holding the annual, Test Your Bushfire Survival Plan Facebook event tonight, to ensure residents are bushfire ready.
