Bupa members to receive another round of Covid cash-back payments
Health Insurance company Bupa has announced that their members will receive a $340 cash handout per policy next month, in an effort to return it’s so called Covid-19 savings.
Joel Gibson from One Big Switch stated on Perth Live that Bupa isn’t the only health fund giving money back to customers.
“They’ve done that in two different ways, some have given cash refunds and others have differed their premium increases from the 1st of April when they normally happen across the board, into the Spring,” he told Oliver Peterson.
The big four health funds are Bupa, Medibank, HCF and NIB, which are all raising their premiums in 6 weeks time on the 1st of November.
“I think it’s to be applauded that Bupa has done both but they did promise at the start of the pandemic that they would not profit from Covid-19.”
“In the past couple years they certainly have charged their customers too much as people haven’t been able to take advantage of it in the way that they used to.”
