The State government has extended its $10 million builders’ loan scheme which is helping residential builders complete unfinished homes.

The $10 million program has so far paid out $5.7 million in loans for 97 homes but HIA WA executive director Michael McGowan told 6PR Afternoons host Julie-Anne Sprague the scheme only targeted small to medium-sized builders’.

“Given there is half of the volume of money left, we expect there’s another 100 (homes) in the pipeline to be completed with the extension of the program,” Mr McGowan said.
