Transperth has added extra train services to accommodate the expected big crowds for tonight’s SkyWorks display along the foreshore.

Public Transport Authority spokesperson David Hynes said Australia Day was the biggest single day for public transport use on the network and urged everyone using it to “do the right thing”.

“You’ve got to wear a mask on public transport … it’s something that’s emerged as a bit of an issue in the past few weeks,” he told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings.

“Our transit officers are authorised to … take you off the train and arrest you if you resist.”
