Elle Macpherson refused to have chemotherapy to treat her breast cancer which she says is now in remission but a leading Sydney surgeon says holistic cancer therapy alone is “insufficient” for treating most cancers.

Breast Cancer surgeon and associate professor Cindy Mak spoke to 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead and said holistic treatments including reflexology and massage do help people with cancer but work alongside conventional medication.

“I’ve never met a patient with invasive cancer who has successfully treated their cancer with meditation, yoga or fasting,” Dr Mak said.
