US movie star Alec Baldwin says he didn’t pull the trigger on the prop gun that fatally wounded cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in an upcoming interview.

It’s Baldwin’s first interview since the tragedy occurred on the set of the movie Rust, and will be aired tomorrow night.

Showbiz guru Peter Ford said the saga is playing out like a “mystery thriller”.

“Very strange turn of events,” he said on 6PR Breakfast.

“And clearly before he went into that interview … Alec’s legal team would have gone through every possible and potential question with him, and told him ‘don’t say that’ or ‘do say that’.

“It would have been very well rehearsed before he went into that situation, so maybe we’ll learn more tomorrow.”
