Dog attacks are on the rise, according to new data from Australia Post. In the past six months there were more than 1200 dog-related incidents nationwide involving postal workers, which is a 5 per cent increase on the year prior.

Daniel Binder, the ranger team lead at the City of Stirling, told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that dog attacks are increasing at a “similar rate” to dog ownership.

“There’s quite a lot that happen. Year by year dog ownership increases and it’s probably scaling at a similar rate that we see,” he said.
