Gold medallist Grace Brown admits she’s still coming to terms with the magnitude of her achievement after navigating treacherous conditions to bring home Australia’s first Olympic road cycling gold medal in 20 years.

The Victorian finished almost a second clear of her nearest rival and told Nine Radio’s Paris 2024 coverage the celebrations have already begun following the stunning result, which was the country’s first gold medal at these Olympics.

“It’s a bit surreal really,” she said.
