6PR Breakfast co-host Basil Zempilas was elected the City of Perth Lord Mayor at the weekend, since we still have full access to the Lord Mayor-elect we opened up the phone lines.

Listener Geraldine sent her congratulations and says she wants to see the City cleaned up.

“I’d like to have achieved that within this first three year term; I’d like us to have made big inroads into the issues that people were concerned about: safety, cleanliness of the City and a plan for homelessness,” Mr Zempilas replied.
