This weekend marks a significant event in motorsport in Australia, with Sunday’s Bathurst 1000 the final time a Commodore will participate in a Supercars race at the famed The Mountain track that hosts the nation’s great race.

The Driver’s Seat podcast and radio show host Matt Mackeldon told 6PR Breakfast stand-in hosts Julie-anne Sprague and Mark Gibson the weekend was also honouring the late legendary racing driver and ‘King of the Mountain’ Peter Brock.

“Holden are planning a bunch of activities, it’s also Brock’s 50th anniversary competing around Mount Panorama, so the stars have aligned there as well,” he said.
