Basil wants a big crowd at Northbridge Piazza for Socceroos showdown

Perth Lord Mayor wants soccer fans to come together for Sunday morning’s massive World Cup knockout fixture between the Socceroos and Argentina.
Basil Zempilas says he’s not trying to emulate the joyous scenes at Melbourne’s Federation Square after Australia qualified on Thursday morning, but wanted to provide the people of Perth with an opportunity to celebrate every moment of the monumental match.
“People want for a big fixture like this to be able to come together, watch the game, get the sound of the commentary cranked up nice and loud and just enjoy every kick, every tackle and hopefully every goal for Australia … the piazza in Northbridge is the perfect spot,” he told Gary Adshead in his new Friday segment on 6PR Mornings.

The City of Light will be alive with green and gold this weekend with Northbridge Piazza airing the Socceroos’ World Cup do-or-die against Argentina 💚💛
