The 55 year-old convicted terrorist who made the bombs that killed 202 people in the 2002 Bali bombings has been released from prison.

Umar Patek has been granted parole, having served less than 12 years of a 20-year sentence.

“What really makes me angry is that the government over there say, and I quote, he has fulfilled a special condition by participating in a deradicalisation program. If a violation of his parole is committed, his rights of parole will be revoked,” Steve Mills told 6PR Breakfast listeners.

“If we think we have to respect our neighbours, I cannot respect that this bloke served 12 years of a 20 year sentence for murdering 202 people.”
