The Perth suburb of Balga, just 11 km from the city, has marked a major milestone by having its first home sell for $1 million, a sign it has overcome its past reputation.

Kaye Liddelow, the former president of the Balga Action Group, has lived in the area for 56 years and shared with Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that Balga is a gorgeous suburb with a strong community. 

“Over the years, many people have come together to make it the great place it is now,” she said.
