Thousands of welfare payments have been illegally cancelled, according to two reports in as many weeks.

John Stainsby, Senior Policy Advisor at ACOSS, told Perth Today host Oliver Peterson that this is a real issue, particularly as it impacts some of Australia’s most vulnerable.

“Hundreds of thousands of people across the country are having their payments suspended each quarter, and at this point, we can really have no confidence that that’s being done fairly and most importantly, within the law,” he stated.
