Australian Olympian Swimmer Michelle Ford has released her memoir Turning the Tide, which details the tale of one of Australia’s greatest swimmers, amidst one of the most tumultuous periods in sports history.

Ms Ford joined Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons to discuss the evolution of the sport from her era to the present day.

“We’ve got to remember days have changed but some things haven’t. I think that’s why this book resonates today, and why I felt that I needed to lend my voice to tell the story of what happened. So we can reflect on the past and make better for future generations,” Ms Ford said.

“I think an important message to come out of this book is, you don’t have to dope to win and by doping your body is going to suffer later on in life.”
