America’s largest cinema chain, AMC, has announced their new pricing system which will include charging more for the best seats in the middle of the theatre.

It has left the Australian cinema industry divided, with some executives pointing out different prices are already standard for sporting events and concerts and others, are calling it “confusing” and “cynical.”

Senior Journalist and Film Writer at the Sydney Morning Herald, Gary Maddox, says it’s crazy to charge people different prices at the cinema as all seats usually have a similar view.
