Cirque du Soleil is bringing a new kind of performance down under next year.

Crystal is performed entirely on ice and involves world-class ice skaters and acrobats claim their new frozen playground with speed and fluidity as they challenge the laws of gravity with never-before-seen acrobatics.

One of the stars is Brisbane local Harley McLeish, a porter and artist coach, who told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast the exhaustive journey he went on before earning a spot in the Cirque line-up.

“It’s definitely competitive, it’s a long journey, but worth it when you get there,” he said.

The show comes to Perth next September.
