WA Government departments have been slammed yet again for poor levels of cyber security, with “too many” not adequately protecting services or citizen data.

State Auditor General Caroline Spencer told Oliver Peterson on 6PR‘s Perth Live former employees could still access government buildings and finances because their passes had not been revoked – facts that were unknown because the issues were not logged anywhere.

Gary Adshead described the government’s treatment of cyber security issues as irresponsible, and questioned why it was in the state it was despite spending millions of dollars on a “Cyber Security Operations Centre”.
