The first Royal Commission into Defence & Veteran Suicide begins this week, with a range of powerful, moving and troubling stories set to uncover the level of abuse in Australia’s armed forces.

The first WA public hearing begins in Perth, and medically-discharged veteran Jane will be one of many telling their story.

“It is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to have my voice heard,” Jane said.

“It’s a little daunting, because they have ignored about 57 other enquiries.”
