Federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese is recovering at home in isolation after testing positive to COVID-19 but is confident he can travel to Perth this weekend to launch his party’s campaign.

The Opposition Leader told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast he hopes WA Premier Mark McGowan, who announced on Friday he had also tested positive to the virus, could join him at the rescheduled event next Sunday.

“We had a chat a couple of nights ago about that, but hopefully both of us will be right for the campaign launch next Sunday,” he told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast on Tuesday morning.

“When you have COVID you’re not 100 per cent, that’s the truth of the matter.”
