Anthony Albanese backs McGowan’s 14-day quarantine stance

Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says WA Premier Mark McGowan’s strict quarantine requirements had kept WA safe.
“There were restrictions on me doing my job for the last couple of years, for a while there… but in WA we know, particularly in some of the remote communities, the [vaccination rates] are nowhere near that figure [of 97 per cent first dose],” he told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.
“It’s not surprising that Mark McGowan has taken a cautious approach, he’s done that throughout the pandemic.
“In WA, people are able to go restaurants, pubs, the kids can go to school, people are able to go to work.
“[Over east] there are a lot of businesses though that have really struggled, because people have essentially self-imposed restrictions on their activity.”
