Could Andrew Forrest acquire ailing department store David Jones?

The mining magnate is reportedly aiming to bring the company back into Australian ownership after its South African parent company put the retailer on the market.

6PR finance guru Scott Haywood told Gareth Parker on Breakfast reports suggest Forrest’s Tattarang investment arm is in talks to buy the company.

“It would be an amazing story to get David Jones back in Australian ownership, we know some of the problems we’ve had with retail here, especially due to the pandemic,” he said.
