And then there were two… who will be named the ‘Greatest Australian of All Time’?

The grand finalists in Radio 6PR’s ‘Greatest Australian of All Time’ are set in stone and voting for one of the two national treasures is still open.
Historian Roland Perry knew both the finalists, having written six books on cricket legend Donald Bradman and advising wartime medical hero Weary Dunlop on his diaries, as well as attending school with his son.
“Bradman’s greatest asset was his integrity – I dealt with him for six years… we were good friends in the finish,” Perry told Millsy at Midday host Steve Mills.

Surgeoun Dunlop, renowned for his leadership as a Japanese POW during World War II, was also known to Perry.
“Guts, intestinal fortitude,” he says of Dunlop.

Nominations for the final 16 were collated from calls on air and polls on 6PR’s social media, with the winner to be announced on Wednesday, Australia Day.
Voting is still live on 6PR’s social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – or through the station.
