Albanese heckler denies activist links after Midland media conference stunt

The man who made national headlines for interrupting Anthony Albanese’s press conference outside St John of God’s Hospital in Midland yesterday could not elaborate on what he wanted to ask the federal Labor leader when 6PR Breakfast tracked him down on Friday.
‘Norm’ told Steve Mills, filling in for regular host Gareth Parker, he “had nothing to do” with the Advance Australia activist organisation or an anti-Labor billboard truck that also hijacked Mr Albanese’s appearance with WA Premier Mark McGowan yesterday, their first in two years.
The vehicle drove laps around the hospital during the media event, prompting a furious reaction from Mr McGowan, who said the same truck had also been outside his Rockingham home.
On Friday the punter said Mr Albanese was not willing to answer his question, despite not detailing what he actually wanted answered from the Opposition leader.
“As soon as it ended he just ran off,” Norm told Mills.
The federal election is expected to be called this week and will be held on either May 14 or May 21.
