Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited his “old mate,” Perth Live host Oliver Peterson, in the 6PR studios.

Pressed on a variety of topics during the interview, Albanese’s most definitive response addressed the push by other states for a larger share of WA’s GST.

He assured Oly that, while these other states are citing a need for increased health funding in their campaign for a larger portion of the GST, he remains committed to the current WA GST arrangement, asserting that they are not actually missing out.

“The only section of government that is missing out and having to pay more money is the Australian government as a result of the agreement that we are sticking to,” he said.
