New data reveals that one in ten Australians is now using AI to assist with complex DIY car repairs, including replacing brake pads.

Keith Adamson, a mechanic at Keith Adamson Auto Repairs, told 6PR Weekends host Chrissy Morrissy that while vehicle maintenance is important, attempting complex repairs without professional training is dangerous.

There are lots of little traps, and if you’ve not been trained to identify them, you can blindly go ahead and think you’re doing a great job, but then down the track, when it goes wrong, you end up colliding with an oncoming car”, he said.
