The Australian Human Rights Commission has urged aged care and community workers to keep in mind how prevalent ageism can be when working with older people.

An AHRS survey found 90 per cent of aged care workers had rethought the way they communicate with older people during their work.

Council of the Ageing CEO Pat Sparrow told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast people over 50 regularly experience ageism.

“It seems the age you seem to be old depends on who’s looking at you and what lens they’re looking through,” Ms Sparrow said.
