Advocate bemoans backlash at Muslim footballer’s Pride stance

The football community should welcome Muslim footballer Haneen Zreika’s decision to skip her AFLW club’s Pride fixture this weekend because she wanted to uphold her religious beliefs and not wear GWS’s themed guernsey.
The 22-year-old grappled all week with the decision, which came after West Coast confirmed its AFLW club would not have a Pride guernsey this year for the annual round.
Family Voice Australia spokesperson Greg Bondar told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings Zreika should be supported for standing by her beliefs, and lambasted the Giants for not supporting her more.
