The organisers of a pro-Palestine gathering to be held in Murray Street Mall tonight have pledged a peaceful demonstration, despite the calls to violence at similar protests.

Friends of Palestine WA spokesperson Mick Everett told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the event is not about supporting the actions of Hamas in any way.

“I’d say that we abhor any attacks on civilians whether they be Palestinian or Israeli,” Mr Everett said.

“But that has no place and should have no place in such a conflict.”
