Australian Open security called in police yesterday when human rights activists were found wearing “Free Peng Shuai” shirts.

The police officer asked the pair to remove their T-shirts. The T-shirts featured a photo of Peng Shuai on the front with the word “Wanted” and “Where is Peng Shuai?” printed on the back.

Senate candidate and activist Drew Pavlou, who has since set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to print out more of these T-shirts, spoke to 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker.

“These are just shirts that are basically asking ‘where is Peng Shuai?’. She’s an innocent woman, she’s been missing.”
