ACCC lashes caravan industry over poor consumer treatment

The consumer watchdog has put the caravan industry on notice for the poor treatment of consumers.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has taken aim at the $23 billion sector over delayed delivery of new builds, widespread consumer guarantee failures and warranty concerns.
ACCC deputy chairman Delia Rickard told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast the focus was on caravans due to the increasing number of complaints on caravans.
“We’ve had over 1300 in recent years… and we’re seeing more of them in parks because of COVID and people holidaying domestically,” she told Parker.
