It’s well known there are major staff shortages in Western Australia’s hospitals, but some people are waiting years to be seen.

A Perth mum has been informed it will take two years before her 10-year-old son can get an autism assessment.

Perth mum Tanya Wheat told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live her family is struggling. 

“I know I’m not the only one… It’s pretty standard,” said Ms Wheat.
