A drive along the Nullarbor turned into a desperate ordeal for Caleb Humphries, whose car broke down 30km from the closest town.

Despite taking the advised action of staying with his vehicle and even scrawling “HELP” across it, Caleb explains to Breakfast show hosts Karl and Ian that he was stranded for days, witnessing over 40 cars pass him by.

“The trucker that stopped for me had seen a Facebook post about a missing bloke, and ironically, he was driving past and saw the car and went, ‘That’s him,’” he said.
