National Science Week 2022 launches today with a new theme and thousands of activities for kids to participate in.

Peter Klinken is a WA Chief Scientist and National Science Week WA Patron and joined Gareth Parker in the 6PR Breakfast studio to talk about the week, which officially runs from 13th to 21st.

The school theme for National Science Week in 2022 is Glass: More than meets the eye and celebrates the many roles that glass plays in our lives.

“It’s a moment when we get to highlight, showcase and celebrate science,” he said.

“Science and technology have such an important part in underpinning our whole society.”

Professor Klinken said he was also excited by the theme for the year.

“It’s quite remarkable what goes into glass,” he said.
