‘A huge relief’: Perth Glory players granted last-minute exemption to come home

Perth Glory players have been granted a last-minute reprieve to board a chartered flight and get home in time for Christmas.
The players have been in quarantine in Queensland after a member of the squad returned a positive COVID test before their clash against Brisbane Roar.
Glory CEO Tony Sage told 6PR Breakfast it’s wonderful news.
“It’s a huge relief to the club, we didn’t know what we were going to do,” he said on 6PR Breakfast.
“We’ve got a lot of young players in our team, and the mental health issues were getting worse and worse.”
The players will board the flight later today and will have to quarantine at home for seven days.
