Loneliness has been officially recognised as a serious public health concern, prompting a UK-born initiative to be brought to Perth.

Rev Michele Yuen, Cathedral Pastor and Manager of the Holy Grounds Cafe and Community Space, told The Long Lunch host Tod Johnston that the Chatty Cafe serves as a safe place for creating connections.

‘We’re all in the same boat, but it’s about how we surround ourselves with people that keep us buoyant,’ she said.
